Background

Kaeng Krachan National Park is Thailand’s largest national park covering around 8 million acres and is one of Thailand’s best wildlife habitats with a diverse array of flora and fauna. Wildlife sightings opportunities include dusky langur, gibbons, elephants, hornbills, (mostly the great and wreathed) and a huge array of other birds. The park is also home to tigers, two species of bears, and leopards. Although, these magnificent creatures are more difficult to see.

Itinerary

Day 1

Depart your Bangkok hotel at 7:00 am for the 3 hour transfer to Kaeng Krachan. Stop at your resort to drop off your luaggage before heading into the national park using a 4wd through the wilderness area´s of the park. Reach Baan Krang and head on a nature walk for the rest of the day on the langur & elephant trail where you will find some langur families and sometimes wild elephants. After lunch get on a different trail to visit some mineral licks before getting around the birding trail. Start driving back around 6:00 pm. Stop en route at different spots to watch large mammals. Exit the forest and drive to a Thai restaurant to have some delicious seafood near the riverside before returning back to your resort.

Walking Distance: 5 kms over a period of 4-6 hours. Meals: [L,D]

Day 2

Wake up early for some morning birdwatching, have your breakfast at the resort and head into the national park once again on four wheel drive along the dusty road. Drive up towards the mountain to see the mist in the Phanenthung area. Start trekking down towards Thor Thip Waterfall which is the most beautiful waterfall in Kaeng Krachan. After 4 kilometers exit the forest to have lunch in a restaurant. After lunch go on another trail, trekking for the rest of the day. Exit the forest sharp at 5:00 pm to drive back to your resort. Spend your time relaxing at the hotel. You are free to have dinner on your own.

Day 3

After having breakfast at the hotel head into the national park to the butterfly trail to watch butterflies and beetles. Go on a gibbons trail to encounter some gibbon families. Exit the forest around mid- day for lunch before returning back to Bangkok. Reach your Bangkok hotel around 6:00 pm. End of our services.
