Background
Located only 30-60 km west of Bangkok between the Tachin and Mae Klong Rivers, Samut Sakhon is a huge area of fishponds and salt pans, which supports a large number and variety of waders including three stints, numerous Broad-billed and Marsh Sandpipers, and a few Terek Sandpipers and Spoon-billed Sandpipers. Samut Sakhon is also home to significant populations of egrets, terns and gulls.
Itinerary
Depart your Bangkok hotel sharp at 0600am for an hour drive to Samutsakhorn. Arrive Khok kham salt farm for birding Spend half day birding and head to have lunch in a Thai restaurant. After lunch go Birding around Rang Jan sale farm.Later drive to farmland in Ratchaburi Province to see some shorline species.Transfer back to your Bangkok hotel around 1800-1900pm.
