Background
Khao Yai National Park, some 2 hours northeast of Bangkok consists of moist evergreen forest, mixed deciduous forest, and dry evergreen forest. With some 2,000-2,500 plant species, over 350 bird species, and large mammals including elephants, white handed gibbon, gaur, Asiatic black bear and wild dog, Khao Yai is a natural choice for a Wild Watch adventure.
Itinerary
Day 1: Depart your Bangkok hotel at 0700 for the 2-hour transfer by private vehicle to Khao Yai. Stop for a short familiarization briefing from your guide before you head into the forest. As you trek through the forest be on the lookout for gibbons and the myriad of birds that inhabit this area. Around midday have lunch in a Thai restaurant in the park. Carry on trek on a different route before setting off for the final leg to the overnight camp. After having freshen up set to dinner prepared by the field staff and Thai chef. Enjoy the Bar- B-Q and around 8pm, head out on a night drive with your guide to look out for nocturnal wildlife in the grasslands. Possible wildlife sightings include sambar, porcupine, palm civet, small Indian civet and barking deer.
Overnight: deluxe tents at forest campsite. Walking Distance: 5-6kms.

Day 2: Up early for wildlife and bird watching before breakfast. Have your breakfast prepared by the field staff and depart the camp around 8am for the start of the walk out of the forest. Reach the Haew Suwat waterfall to have lunch in a Thai restaurant After lunch drive to Khao Kheaw view point the top portion of the national park where often Asiatic black bears are seen. Exit the forest around 4pm, and transfer back to your Bangkok hotel.
