This tour starts early morning from Bangkok and ends late evening in Bangkok.
Rising to an elevation 1,328 m, Khao Yai is one of Thailand´s best-known national parks and only 2 hours drive from Bangkok. Dominated by lush, tall-stature, dry evergreen forest with occasional grassy clearings, the park supports birds such as four species of hornbills, the red-headed trogon, sultan tit, coral-billed ground cuckoo, crested-serpent eagle, Radde´s Warbler, Greenish Warbler, Sulphur-breasted Warbler, Siberian Rubythroats, and Thick-billed and Blunt-winged Warblers to mention just a few.
Itinerary
Depart your Bangkok hotel sharp at 0600am for the 2 hours transfer to Khao Yai. Have your breakfast at Khao Yai restaurant near Haw Na Rok waterfall, followed by birding in this area. Later head out on Trail # 2 to Khao Khiew mountain, where you will find hill evergreen forest above1,000 m. Have Lunch at restaurant near the park headquarters and Set out on Trail # 3 for birding around Nong Phak Chi grassland and watchtower (2.5 km easy walk). 1700 or more Depart Khao Yai for the transfer back to Bangkok. Stop for dinner on the way. Arrive back to your Bangkok hotel around 2100pm.
